As you all know by now that some things got a little out of hand and I have been advised by the owners of this site and De-Elegant to make some things clear about De-Elegants and its kits:
A) De-Elegant came out in 1986 making custom model for the trucking industry. This has been our main focus up until 2001 when we started working on 4 2003 model for the truck model builders and its soul reason was to help in the demand for a new up to date rig to build.
B) These kits are totally as a side item to De-Elegant models, and in no way are they our main concern or form of income, this is just a side item.
C) This was intended for the advanced model makers so that the main items of concern (body styling) was already done for you, and allowed your creative talents to run wild. . . . at no time were we trying to have a complete kit, or compete with any other manufacture.
our product was licensed and marketed under the manufactures of the trucks, and if it was not included in the kits, drawing were not submitted us for the production. I hope you understand our position on this matter and in no way are we soliciting business, just giving the general public a general introduction to the issues you have conveyed. If you have any question concerning this matter feel free to contact me (Kevin or Kuenn at our email address) and we will be glad to help you in your quest for more answers.
I apologize for disrupting this forum, but as a spokesman this what I do. Once again accept my apologies and continue to make this a strong and rewarding site.
Sincerely
Kevin William

Kevin,
Thank you for posting your link here. Please feel free to post images such as the Coronado here as well for us to see. I, for one am VERY interested in obtaining one of these conversions and would again like to see the images to inspect it as best I can under the circumstances. And, for the record, the person who disrupted the forums is no longer here and will not be back, so this topic is now closed.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Freightliner Coronado Resin Cast Kit that I purchased from De-Elegant. It is still in the early stages of assembly. To get it to the point you see in the pictures I kit bashed a Freightliner Kit from Italeri. For starters I used the frame, wheels, hood higes, fuel tanks etc... I was very pleased with the quality of the resin. The thickness of the resin is that of what you would see in a manufractured kit... The resin was very easy to work with... The kit came with basic intructions and illustrations to better understand certain points of assembly that could be overlooked otherwise. I will post more pictures as time goes on with the progress etc...

I purchased a kit from them about a year ago. it was a pretty good conversion. well detailed and came with everyone listed. My personal opinion they are alittle over priced.

Someday when I have extra cash I am definelty going to purchase a De Elegant Kit for sure. Just like you stated, it would be nice if there were more available kits for us whether it be a new realease from one of the major kit makers or someone like De Elegant who's making his own stuff. I want to purchase a kit from Dave as well @ American Industrial. I like the looks of his old time Mack tractors. I'd rather pay a few bucks more for something as nice as them kits rather than spend 200.00 on a kit that was produced 20 years ago. keep the kits coming...please!!

problem is most kits and conversions you need a donor kit. and those are getting totally out of hand. to cover cost of resin and shipping now a days its getting costly to make. not to mention if you take a patented item ( like a model frame and suspension )and reproduce it then sell it youre looking at sueable charged for using copywritten material.

Maybe I'm confused here. Were you saying that you had to open up the doors on this truck and it does not come with them seperate as shown in your photo's? If so how did you get them cut while leaving the door jams around the doorways?

well my kits came with the doors seperate from the body. you could either glue them solid or hinge them.
